Octavia 2.0 TDI CR VRs

looking at buying a Octavia 2.0 TDI CR VRS but a little concerned about the high Mileage 159000 on a 2012 plate. it has had a new clutch and fly wheel, cam belt, water pump plus full service at 142,000. has full history.

i know mileage for a diesel is not a big issue as my last car had over 150,000 and was still going fine.

Dpf will be getting on a bit but it all comes down to price for the car and your expectations. What about the egr or injectors ? Any of them been replaced ? Fresh oil at the right times helps.

As above, I'd suggest checking the DPF oil ash volume to get an idea of DPF health.

 

I'd also check the ECU software version to see if it's had the emissions fix as the "trust building" warranty will end at 160k.

I'm pretty sure the vrs diesel engine was not one of the engines  needing the fix.

its up up £4500, its has full service history done by Skoda dealer. i used to have a VRS petrol a few years ago so know that the car is very reliable, just not sure about the diesel version.

I believe most (all?) EU5 common rail diesels are affected by the emissions cheat. That would include the CR170 fitted to a 2012 vRS :-)
