1980 Estelle 120L Carburettor

Featured Replies

I recently purchased an Estelle. It needs a new accelerator pump diaphragm and gasket set for the Jikov 32 carburettor. Has anyone come across a source for either of these.

Thanks

You could try Webcon, who used to do a Weber replacement carb.

Thanks, I’ve emailed them. Also just found a kit on eBay for £35 from a seller in Croatia which may be ok.

The kit on Ebay looks good.....just check its correct for your Jikov....there are various versions of the 32 on Skodas and whilst similar they aren't all compatible.

The Weber replacement is no longer available.....it hasn't been for many years. In terms of spares for the Jikov - https://www.skopart.de/en/

is without a doubt your best chance of getting the parts.....the site is incredible and Frank's English is good - he is also Germanically efficient! Alternatively if you go on Facebook and track down Paul Wyatt he used to run a business called Skoparts International and still gets things for people.....he used to have a lot of Jikov parts and carbs - I'm fairly sure he still will....also on Facebook there are various Skoda and old Skoda sites where sad geeks like me hang about and you'd undoubtedly be able to source a second hand carb.

Many thanks for all the advice. I’ve now got all the contacts I need for my carburettor bits and anything else I desire in the future. Really impressed just how much is available and at reasonable prices

Webcon still do a service kit for £37+VAT but I’ve decided to just buy the key components I need, from one of the suppliers already listed. I’ll post how I get on in the new year when hopefully Orange will be running nice and smooth again.

Are you saying Webcon do a service kit for the Jikov carb??!! Skopartde trump everyone for me.....simply the best parts availability out there and a modern customer service attitude. Some firms in CZ have great lists of stuff but when you try and obtain it, it can be difficult!

What reg plate is your car on? I assume it's a Super rather than a mk1 judging by the vinyl roof?

I emailed Webcon sales and they replied that a service kit was in stock which should fit my car. Skopartde will be my preference given the recommendation given. There are a couple of parts I'll probably order from Skopartde which should sort out my car without having to buy a full service kit. The main part needed is an accelerator pump diaphragm, the old one is shot and leaves the poor car gasping when flooring the throttle.

My car was originally imported from Hungary and is a left hooker. It's on an age related W plate. The vinyl roof has been added by the last seller, there's an interesting story behind it which I'll try and expand on shortly.

I took the carb off but found some damage so I’ll probably get a secondhand replacement.

I also filmed what I came across when dismantling.
