A5 camera software

Featured Replies

I have my virtual cockpit winging its way to me and I’ve found someone to do the coding for that and while I’m there they are also going to look at my A5 lane assist camera to see if I can get it to talk to the retrofitted MIB2 and get rid of the annoying warning bong. I can’t seem to find a clear answer from searching online so I wonder if anyone knows if flashing 0060 firmware onto a 5Q0980653F camera will enable it to talk to the MIB2 Amundsen and get the traffic sign recognition working correctly or will that only work on the 5Q0980653G camera. If that’s the case I have found a few of these for sale and I could just bolt it up to the car when the windscreen is booked to be replaced and then they can calibrate it (if it’s as easy as that). Any advice would be gratefully received. I’m currently running 0052 firmware and naturally, getting the Dynamic Roadsign Display: Function Restricted warning. Thanks :)

Hi Sasha, did you manage to solve this? I realise you are now onto MIB2.5.

I ask, as I'm upgrading my Bolero MIB1 to Amundsen MIB2 (5Q0035874B) and @pab567 is doing the sw/hw rework and he mentioned that my A5 camera (5Q0980653F) will need the firmware updated to get traffic sign recognition properly working with the MIB2 unit. I'm struggling to find any information on this - can you advise? 😀

Thanks @pab567.

I've looked at your guide - I don't have Odis Engineering or VCP and I've tried to figure out what I need (software and interface) and cost etc. I'm a bit confused about this? Is there an idiots guide?!!!

Would an alternative option be to buy a 5Q0 980 653 G (0060) camera from eBay and swap over as @SashaGrace mentioned?  I have OBDeleven, if that's any use?

I changed the camera because I was having the windscreen replaced. If you change the camera you’ll need ODIS to calibrate it as it’ll have no basic settings when plugged in. Pawel can help with VCP upload I believe.

Ah, ok. Thanks Sasha 😀
