Hi all,

 

I would like to get a Rear View Camera for my Skoda Yeti, it will be installed by a dealer but the coding has to be done beforehand.

Yeti is MJ2015, radio is Discover.

Does somebody know, which bits to set?

The camera will be directly on the radio, means no moving lines, no additional control unit on CAN Bus.

 

Are

5F, Byte 19, Bit 4

10 Byte 0 Bit 4

 

the correct ones?

When I set reverse gear, I get an error message on the radio, because no camera is there yet, but briefly I see a black screen having the rear park distance on the left side.

After I click the error message away there is no change anymore, I get the big rear park distance picture only.

Additionally a fault code because of missing camera.

 

Is it already correctly coded?

Why has the coding to be done beforehand?

If you know how to do it why ask others?

Is this the correct behavior if no camera is present?

I would say the normal way is to code it after the camera is fitted.
If it's being installed by a dealer why are they not coding it so you know they have done the job correctly?

That also doesn't make sense; a dealer IS a garage.

Erm because you now get DTCs as it is currently codeded incorrectly for the car as it stands. 

 

Personally i would be using a different dealer. 

If you do it wrong the "Dealer" could spend hours trying to find a problem that's not due to a fault of theirs.
If you have the sense to code the car surely fitting a camera and cables would be a doddle.
Anybody fitting it should know and be able to code it.
What "Dealer" is fitting the camera?
