Probably with an SD Card and / or a key combination. 

 

But what are you trying to achieve with the update? you are sure that there will not be a problem with the removal of component protection when updating?

I don’t know, do you think that update will re-lock the unit?

I too would be interested if there are any software updates for this unit - I believe mine is the same model?

I'm not particularly having any issues - I do find that randomly a track will suddenly restart from the beginning from my SD Card (64GB, Fast Card, Full Size - not a smaller one in an adaptor) but no idea if later software would fix.

Software updates usually appear for a reason. If mine wasn't a million years old I'd just leave well alone, but would be interested to know if there is something newer.
