Tyre Pressures

Featured Replies

Happy New Year to all.

I had the tyre pressure warning come on today. Sorted with a quick trip to the air line at the garage but the inside of the fuel cap offers a range or pressure options.

I have 19inch alloys in a 7 seat edition with panoramic roof so about as heavy as you can get!

What pressures do others run on their tyres?

Thanks.

2.4 Bar as recommended on filler flap, 235x50x19 7 seater SEL.

I'm pretty sure mine recommended 2.3 bar.

Most dealers seem to state on their video reports as 2.2 bar.

2.4 bar. Tried eco pressure of 2.7 bar and it made the ride terribly brittle and crashy.

7 seat and panoramic roof and as heavy as you get matters not much if the seats are empty.

That is why the Filler Flap indication of the pressures are there showing the car lightly loaded or carrying a heavier load.

Easy enough to go towards the higher pressures and then as you try the ride and traction drop the pressure, just not too low.

A good tyre pressure gauge being a good idea, then you just air them up once, and reducing the pressure is free.

Different tyres on different peoples cars and in different conditions are why others experiences really do not matter.

Also why the 'recommended pressures are just a guide within the safe range, low and high.

Yeah I went for 2.7 which was the eco option but think it feels crashy too... Will drop to 2.4.
