What module # controls folding of mirrors

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I am planning on mounting two folding motors inside my ordinary mirrors. I want to know if my door control modules will work with those motors or I need to do an upgrade.

Driver door: 1T0959701M

Pass door: 1T0959702M

Please give me some extra details if I am doing something wrong.

Thanks

Those are MIN3 modules, I think you need MAX3 modules for folding mirrors.

When I added folding mirrors, the door modules were already MAX3. Part numbers are:

- Drivers: 1T0 959 701 AA

- Passengers: 1T0 959 702 S

So, do I need to replace the whole unit (motor & controller) together or I can only replace the control part.

You'll need the mentioned above door controllers (modules) and the motors for power folding mirrors.

That said means both parts in both doors.

Thank you very much for detailed explanation.

I brought everything (the two door modules, the mirror folding switch, and the folding motors). I unfortunately found out that I can't install the motor inside of my mirror as my harness (from non-folding mirror car) doesn't support it and the harness itself has to run through the motor housing circled base. So, I wonder if I have to purchase a complete folding mirror instead, or there is an alternative way to fix the folding motor inside my non-folding mirrors.

Thanks guys!

Adding extra wires to the harness is easy.

The bigger problem is that folding and non-folding mirrors use different castings so you can't just move the motors. You need to buy complete new folding mirrors which should include the harness too.

The motor presented in the attached photo is installed in my car, and I wonder if it is capable of folding mirrors or I need an upgrade.

Thanks!

That part number (1T0959701M) is mentioned in the first post and is not compatible with folding mirrors.
