Hello Martin welcome to the Skoda forum , read through the 1.8 using oil ,post you will find your answer , i'm afraid it's will not be good news .

If you got the car from a dealer the best thing you can do is take it back asap .

If you bought it recently from a dealer/garage/trader I would seriously advise you reject asap and ask for your money back!

If it was a private purchase,I'm afraid you need an engine rebuild, read the numerous other threads including Octavia about 1.8tsi about options available.

A warm welcome to the Forum !  This could be the head gasket and the white smoke is steam from the engine coolant.  It will also burn off some of the engine oil.  Let us know how you get on with the seller?

Hi got it sorted the problem was all 4 pistons/rings need changed

Good news.  Sounds like some hard driving or lots of very short runs in the past.  Will you run it in again?

The owner before me was a lady so i think she didnt drive it alot of time am going to get it fixed and run it again

As long as her name was not Mrs Hertz.
