Problems with possible fuel supply

Featured Replies

Car is 2011 Skoda diesel. 47000 on the clock.

Back in August 2017, had a breakdown which turned out to be failed injectors.

Duly changed (£££££  !!!)

All been running fine until this afternoon when coming down a small gradient of a slip road, in third gear and accelerating (not hard), the car lost power and the warning light (coil shape) came on, exactly like the failed injectors.

Stuttered for a bouta mile and then managed to pull into a lay by to call breakdown.

Switched off engine .

Whilst talking to the recovery operator I was asked to switch on and confirm hazard light colour.

Switched on, no warning light, engine ran ok and we drove the 20 miles home with no problem.

Should I get the car analysed?  bearing in mind we are an 80 mile round trip from our chosen Skoda service garage.

Thank you

You should scan the car for errors. That coil might appear for various reasons that can be far from the failed injectors. Maybe dirty EGR valve or whatever.

When the coil appeared, the car went into so called "limp mode" - the car feels powerless (probably limited turbo action or so).

Maybe it's easier to try to find somebody with the VCDS software in the neighbourhood (I think that there was some topic with VCDS owner locations). Maybe some OBDII adapter and Carista (or similar) app on phone could do the thing.
