Kodiaq 2.0 TSI Petrol Engine?

Featured Replies

Been off the site for a while and now considering all options with a view to possible future ordering of a Kodiaq. Unable to find the 2.0 litre petrol engine option for any of the Kodiaq models on the configurator or on the Drive the Deal site. Same problem when attempting to compare the Seat Taracco. Is this engine still available or is it now 1.5 only?

The 2.0 TSI 190 gpf engine will be available once it has passed the new WLTP tests.

Thanks for that response. Why was the previous 2.0 TSI petrol engine dropped and what are the significant differences with the awaited 190 gpf version?

A brand new particle filter. (and a new gearbox)

I believe it’s basically the same engine but slightly modded to pass the new WLTP tests and has the gasoline particulate filter fitted.

Gearbox change doesn’t seem to have been confirmed by anyone as to whether it’s still the DQ500 or the rumoured DQ381

Confirmed by my dealer.

.... and SEAT has the tarraco displayed with a DQ381-7A

There’s a post in the Superb section suggesting that the new 2.0 TSI engines, at least in higher power specs, have lost the port injection and are now purely direct injection so looks like it could be back to gummed up valves and ports as previous generations of this engine suffered. Hopefully not.
