2011 Fabia vrs rear beam

Featured Replies

Hi I am new to this I have a 2011 Skoda Fabia vrs I am looking to replace the rear beam on it as it is bent does anyone know which beams would fit it thanks matt

Hi, and welcome.

By saying "New beam", do you mean the beam that sits beneath the plastic bumper? Basically, this IS the bumper, whilst what you see, is bodywork, trim.

If you mean this, I believe the VRS has a version that has weights added, although I don't know if it is still a standard unit. Also, many owners actually like to remove these weights, possibly for a weight saving/road holding benefit. I don't know how beneficial this is as I would have thought Skoda fitted it deliberately to the higher powered, faster model, to improve these issues.

That said, I suppose its down to the individual and I assume removing the weights constitute a modification or change from standard format and so, technically, you should inform your insurance company. That said, if the car has already had a few owners, I guess any one of them could have undertaken this mod and you may be totally unaware of it!

You may also be referring to the beam axle. Again, the VRS will almost certainly have an upgraded one, compared to standard. It will, I think, have rear disc brakes to start with.

Perhaps if you are a little more specific, that may help.

Good luck and enjoy the car.

Rear axle that has Disc brakes as standard so easy will be from a Ibiza Cupra or Polo GTI from the correct years or another Vrs.

There are several threads on here from members wanting the rear beam axle for Fabia with rear drums and on there are the axles and the changes in those posts from 2011.

But you will be fine with the 2009-2011 or 2011 on.

@hutchysrs50  Knows the ins and outs, look at posts / threads by him, or maybe he will see this and can help.
