ABS/ESP/PAS fault codes

Featured Replies

Hi all, i've got some fault codes that have come up and put some warning lights on my 2012 Octavia Scout.

This only happens the first time i start the car in the morning. and generally after driving a short distance they go off the codes are;

ABS

  • 00283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47)

00283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47): Electrical Fault in Circuit

00283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47): Open or Short to Plus

00283 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47): Signal Outside Specifications

    Possible Causes

  • Open Circuit in Wiring from/to ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47)
  • ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47) faulty
  • Brake Electronics Control Module (J104) faulty
  • Possible Solutions

  • Check/Repair Wiring from/to ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47)
  • Check/Replace ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Front Left (G47)
  • Check/Replace Brake Electronics Control Module (J104)
  • 00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30

00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30: Signal Outside Specifications

00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30: Implausible Signal

    Possible Causes

    • Fuse(s) faulty
    • Wiring/Connectors from/to Control Module faulty
    • Power Supply (Battery/Generator) faulty

    Possible Solutions

    • Check Fuse(s)
    • Check/Repair Wiring/Connectors from/to Control Module
    • Check Power Supply (Battery/Generator)

    Special Notes

    • When found in an individual control module, it's most likely a local source (e.g. wiring/connectors).
    • When found in multiple control modules at the same time, it's most likely a common source (e.g. ground spot, battery, generator).
    • Intermittent codes are often stored during low outside temperature when the battery capacity goes down and may be ignored.

Power Steering

  • 01316 - ABS Control Module

    01316 - ABS Control Module: No Signal/Communication

    Possible Causes

    • Wiring/Connector(s) from/to ABS Control Module faulty
    • Fault(s) stored in ABS Control Module

    Possible Solutions

    • Check Wiring/Connector(s) from/to ABS Control Module
    • Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB)
      • Usually Measuring Value Blocks (MVB) 125+ show the current Communication Status

All wheel drive system

  • 00625 Vehicle speed sensor

Central electronics

  • 00907 - Intervention Load Management

    Possible Symptoms

  • Function Restrictions

Special Notes

  • Check/Replace Battery
  • Check Generator
  • Clear Fault Code(s)

Possible Solutions

Check Battery Voltage

  • Charge Battery

Possible Causes

Low Battery Voltage Battery Faulty

I'm not sure that the wheel sensor is faulty as it clears itself or i can clear the faults and it does not return.

It seems to me that 00907,00668 and 013116 codes all relate to power management? And ross tech suggest that the battery may be an issue so i'm wondering if it could be as simple as the battery on its way out? The car never sounds like its struggling to start but i guess the first start on a cold morning will be the biggest load on the battery so that would show any weakness?

wondering if anyones had similar issues?

Thanks in advance

Seems to point at a battery, given the randomness.

Perhaps get it tested along with alternator charging. If you have AA/RAC they would do for you?

If you have stop start the battery is expensive and needs coding to the car. Beware halfrauds even though say they can code can’t always.

Sounds like the battery needs replacing to me, CAN-BUS systems like to run on 12Volts all the time, otherwise strange things happen, when mine went the first time I was getting white smoke from the exhaust, put VCDS on it and it come up with speed sensor intermittent, changed the battery cos the thing didn't start, cured problem, still have speed sensor in a drawer now, never fitted it.

Hope this helps,
