Good shout though, not sure how you would diagnose it though without just replacing it.

 

I thought the tandem pump was on the pd version of the engine - by this age surely the vrs diesel uses the very different Common Rail engine?

[EDIT] Looking at previos reviews I think the vrs CR was introduced in 2009 - think the OP's car was a 2010.

Ok thank you for the advice guys appreciate it all.

So just an update I checked the oil level earlier (from cold)  as I’ve had the car back a week now and done around 80-100 miles and the level is stable as last time by this stage it had increased slightly so fingers x!
