Anyone had a Nissan Serena Highway Star?

Featured Replies

Just asking this question here....

I have a chance to buy a 2007 Nissan Serena Highway Star 8 seater 2.0 ltr Auto. It is an import. I just wondered if anyone on here has experience of them e.g vehicle tax cost & insurance costs.

Will still have the VRS but this would be more for family trips away......

@king_o - You probably need a JDM enthusiast site to answer a question like that.

Yeah, you're right, I just thought someone on here may have had some experience of them.

Beware of the VED price. I priced up a 2ltr Roadster (MX-5) for tax rate and it worked out at around £500, they put it in the higher c02 rating because it was an import. My current UK 2ltr MX-5 same as the import was £290 last time I taxed it.

Apart from that I've read folk love them but I don't know much about them or insurance costs, also the ones I've seen online for sale don't state the c02 rating, it just reads 0 c02 on the DVLA when checked against a reg number.

I used to belong to an owners club when I had my Primera Gt, and several members had a passing aquaintance with these, but near enough all of them said they were an aquired taste to drive as their road manners were a bit soggy.

I would suggest a test drive, and see if it drives to your taste before you buy, also check the front end for rust as they like a body crossmember every now and then.

At the end of the day it is a Nissan and will be reliable as long as it sees a spanner in servicing every now and again. As MickA said, ved may be an issue as the older engines are quite dirty by todays standards.
