cracked headlights

On a different forum, LR based, one of the regulars had a similar problem with cracked headlights on a RR Velar.  After much denying of any problem, the usual “Someone must have reversed into you, sir”, they eventually admitted there was an issue with the way the bumper was fitted.  It put too much stress on the lights and they cracked.  From memory, they were £3k each!!

Sounds familiar..
Do you have a link for that Forum?

It’s starts on page 29 of this very long and very rambling this thread.  https://www.disco4.com/forum/life-velar-158132.html?highlight=Velar&start=420  However I’m not sure if anyone not signed in can see it.  Page 39 is the declaration of much relief that LR was picking up the tab. 👍

Hope J77 doesn’t mind me publishing the pics.😎

And £2,495 + VAT each, plus fitting which ain’t going to be cheat at a LR dealer.

You have to admit, that looks totally different from the picture you posted of the other headlight. This one looks a bit like OP's where any flaw is on the edge of the unit.

It is naturally different, but there is a statement of soft material. It helps a lot in the discussion.
