Clutch replacement?

Featured Replies

My Octavia 1.6tdi 2010 has done around 108,000 miles. It has developed a rattling noise when the clutch is depressed. A garage in Spain has diagnosed it needs a new clutch. I am awaiting a quote.

Does it seem likely it needs a new clutch and if so roughly how much should I expect to pay?

Many thanks.

Likely to be the dual mass flywheel rattling. Budget for replacing the clutch and DMF.

You need to ask for the cost in Spain.

Local garage in Spain have now quoted 980 Euros for "work, steering wheel, clutch, bearing, new hydraulic fluid".

I think something may have been lost in translation! This looks a bit pricey, any thoughts?

Looks like they think it is the clutch bearing. Ask them what it would be if they had to replace the DMF so you know the worst.

Hydraulic fluid needs to be changed every two years anyway.
