Different tyres

Featured Replies

hi, I'm looking into buying some new tyres.

The spec I have now is 6.5Jx16 ET 43  - 205/45 R16

Question: is it possible to fit 205/55 R16? Why? Improved comfort, more stability. I don't want to buy new 15" rims.

i looked on the tyre section but i can't work out if that's possible. Also I looked on Oponeo https://www.oponeo.co.uk/advice-and-tips/fit-the-tyre-to-the-rim/6-50jx16

lots of options.

not for me no....

It's a 7% increase in size......will affect speedo and gearing and change the way the vehicle drives.

even 205/50-16 will be nearly 3.5% increase....

The best way to achieve a "higher" side wall, ie more "cushioning" is fit a smaller rim.
