Driver's window will not go up

Featured Replies

As per the title. The window stopped working properly yesterday, so I got home to have a look at it. The window judders down, is making horrible scratchy, rustling noises from the inside, is super slow and needs help to go up again. It is now at the highest it will go, leaving a gap of about an inch - not good given the weather. I have had a look at getting the door panel off, but haven't got the Torx sockets or the plastic trim tools, so I am stuck at the moment and the missus needs to use the car for work tomorrow.

I don't want to bodge disassemble it or break something, so I was just wondering if anyone has any helpful hints?

Cheers.

From what I have read about this, it sounds as though the internal plastic guides/runners have gone/kaput?

Or the plastic pin has broken that goes through the mechanism into a hole in the glass. It can be replaced once you have removed the door trim.

See Haynes manual for details.
