Mirrors and windows

Featured Replies

Hi

I have purchased from a Skoda dealer a Yeti 1.2 TSI DSG Elegance.

I’ve registered on the MySkoda app which says that I can fold in the wing mirrors from the key cob and also close windows from the key fob too.

Having followed the instructions I am unable to do this.

Can somebody advise?

Kind regards

Dave

So it had lost the one touch setting on the windows, as that is what stops them either all opening or closing with the relevant button held down.

Can you fold the mirrors by using the switch that controls the wing mirrors?

This works with no issues.

If mirrors in an Elegance are not folding from the fob one of the windows has lost the "One Touch" function.
Find what one, close it and release the switch, then hold the switch up again for about 3 or 4 seconds and release.
The window should have the one touch restored and the mirrors will fold from a long locking press on the fob.

I’ve just tried what you have suggested but this doesn’t work.

How are you checking the "One Touch" doesn't work?

And exactly how old is your car?

2014 model.

Entering the VIN number into the MySkoda app shows that this is on my car.

You did release the switch then lift again for 3 - 4 seconds?
Are there any other windows that have lost the one touch operation?

If the windows are open when you lock the car do they close on a long press to lock?

I'm thinking that the OP isn't doing the test nor reset correctly.

Simplest way is to switch on ignition then open and close each window in rotation, after each window has closed click and hold the switch “up” for a few more seconds. By doing all 4 windows in turn you will know you have reset them all. It needs only one to be “unset” for the system not to work. Use the switches on the drivers door for the reset.

Note to those instructions above; when each window is UP release the switch then hold it UP again for 3 to 4 seconds. From my experience it has to be 2 seperate actions with a "gap" between them.

Quote from Speedsport, a couple of years ago:

"... Phoned my selling dealer (Lookers, Eccles) to ask them to look at the car. Was put through to one of their technicians who helpfully suggested that as i was on my mobile phone, I sit in the car and follow his instructions......

Ignition on (don't start the engine),

Lower the offending window by pushing the switch down (the switch on the driver's door) and keep holding it down until the window's fully open.

Then pull the switch up, and keep holding it up as the window rises and at the same time apply gentle pressure outwards on the glass near the top.*

Keep the switch up for a further 10 seconds after the window closes & a click should be heard.

The window should now be reset.

Amazing....  it is!

* The application of pressure on the glass isn't in the handbook, so presumably that's something that the technician has discovered through trial & error and was happy to pass on.

A couple of minutes on the phone has saved me a trip to the dealers. Now, that's clever service!!

I had to do this a couple of time with my 'big' Yeti, but the current 1.2 Elegance doesn't seem prone to the problem.   So, recommended by me, but solutions offered by others might do as well.

PS  If you don't know which is the offending window, pick any one to start!

Make sure you hold down the button on the fob long enough.

I could not get this to work and read multiple threads on how to fix the one touch but in the end it turned out that I was not holding the button long enough!

Really don't understand why the mirrors don't fold automatically when you lock the car!

Do all the windows now go up and down with one press?

Yes they do.

Having tried all suggestions I still can’t get the mirrors folding by using the key fob.

Although the MySkoda app says that this is possible on my Yeti, could it be that this is not the case or even a fault?

i do have to take it back to main dealer week after next for a satnav upgrade so will ask then.

Just a thought:

It's not possible for me to close the windows AND fold the mirrors with the same fob-press.  If one or more windows are open, they take precedence and close - only the mirrors, no matter how long I stand there with my finger on the button.

To fold the mirrors as well, I close the windows first - long press.  Then I click to unlock the (driver's) door, and lock it again with a long press that'll now deal with the mirrors.  Sounds long-winded but in practice it's just one of those things.  YMMV, of course, and I'd be interested to hear of any other method!

DRGW, where are you?
If you put your location in your details there might be a knowledgeable member nearby who can have a look.

DRGW have you tried using the other fob?

I do the same but I don't unlock it. One long press for the windows and then another long press for the mirrors.

I’m still unable to close my windows for the key fob too. Could it be that this is not an option on my Yeti although it does show it is on the My Skoda app.

It won't work as described before if one of the windows has lost the one touch function. If your car has electric windows, as all Yeti's do, then holding the lock or open button down onn the remote will open or close all the windows, when they are set correctly.

Mirrors will only fold if the mirror switch has a position for manually folding the mirrors whilst manouvering. If not they don't fold. If it does, I find a second long push on the close button will fold them in. The first long push locks the car and closes the windows?

I am pretty sure my first 2010 elegance did not have the mirror fold, it was an extra, although not that expensive.

My second 2014 and third 2017 Yeti's were specified with electric seats, and that only comes with folding mirrors as an extra as well?
