Columbus 510 Stuck in German

Featured Replies

HELP!

My partner took his car to an electrician to have a sensor fixed.  The stereo went in working and has now come out stuck in German. He has a Columbus 510 radio, he paid extra to have the upgraded radio fitted from his Skoda dealership so I believe the VIN will be different from the original?  Bare with me, I'm not exactly savvy when it comes to cars, just trying to help!

We have tried the normal of google translate however when we go to select English, it freezes! Is there any workaround with this? Any instructions we can follow? Trying to avoid the £114.00 per hour charge Skoda charge! As for returning it to the electrician, apparently, there is nothing he can do as he hasn't touched anything to do with the radio.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

He has tried the software update but it's not exactly simple to follow online as there are multiple folders and it doesn't seem to work via disk.

This is a known fault and it's usually fixable (although the last one I had sent to me was scrap unfortunately). Whereabouts are you? If you're close to North Yorks you can drop it in to me and I'll have a look, or you can post it to me. Repair costs will be less than anywhere else I'll bet.
