OBD tuning

Featured Replies

Hi all.

My first post here.

Getting my very first Skoda Fabia tomorow! :-) It's an 1.4 tdi 80 greenline from 2009.

Im gonna be using this car, to drive forth and back to my workplace. 160 km, every day. Mostly highway....

My question is if anybody have any experience with chip tuning on this particular model.

I used to own a Citroen C3 1.6 HDI, and had it OBD tunned. While the horsepower, drivability and economy was amazing with it tuned, I had problems with the clutch sliding (problems transfering the power from the engine to the drivetrain). Eg. The clutch simply seemed underdimensioned for the more strong engine!

Any simular issues with the Skoda? Also, can the engine and the rest of the car "handle" the tuning, or would I simply be wearing it to quickly?

Im not doing any "racing", or bad style driving.... I'm mostly thinking of getting it tuned, for having better speeder response, a little better ability to overtake and for better fuel consumption.

Any thoughts highly appreciated.

And by "speeder", I mean "accelerator pedal" and by "clutch sliding" i mean "clutch slipping" :-) English is not my first language!

I don't know about the 1.4, but I had my 1.6 tdi remaped from 90hp to 135hp, and I don't have any issues with the clutch. Hope this helps.
