Heater only blowing hot air

Featured Replies

Hi I have an issue with my 2004 VRS petrol the heater will only blow hot air no matter what you set the climate to and it doesn't make any difference if the aircon is on or not. And also the exterior temperature and interior temperature displays are reading -4.5 when its clearly wrong. I had a local garage diagnose a Temperature control flap motor while it was in today having a new rear caliper fitted. I have only had the car less than a week so am finding niggles as i go along.

@Richiano - Well, the Temp Flap motor is a plausible diagnosis, as is an issue with the exterior temperature sensor. There no "interior temp sensor", just a sunlight sensor in the middle of the big fascia top vent.

Well, apart from the (G56) one inside the Climatronic control unit, of course...

I unplugged the exterior temp sensor from behind the grill and both the internal and external temperature display stayed the same at -4.5. If i fitted a new Climatronic unit would it need coding to the car as i have seen them on ebay for £20?

As mentioned the sensor is in the panel.

It will need the basic settings run through

however my money is on a temp flap motor. Easy enough to diagnose though.

There is an Audi/VW specialist a mile up the road from me so i will take it there for them to have a look at would be good to get it sorted as i have been told replacing the flap requires a large portion of the dash to come out? Thanks for all the help guys.
