2018 SE front grill chrome strips.

Having bought my car new in March 2018 I noticed in January this year that the three part chrome strip fitted to the lower front grill on the SE was losing its chrome.  The three parts were replaced under warranty three weeks ago.  I noticed today whilst washing the car that the long centre strip was again deteriorating on its top edge.  As the strip had been fine until winter arrived, I can only surmise that road salt has caused the problem.  This seems to be a very poor piece of trim, and I wonder if anyone else has experienced the same problem?
