Dell Latitude D600 XPSP2 touchpad :(

Featured Replies

Hi,

Recently we finally got the approval to switch away from W2K SP4 to XP Pro SP2.

As per subject I've got a Dell Latitude D600.

Problem is the driver for the touchpad/nipple from the Dell site appears to error out every time I try to install it.

I've tried downloading it on a different PC (in case it got corrupted). No luck.

Anyone here use XPPro SP2 with this model laptop and got a working driver for it? I really miss one of the features which is to make it able to scroll by reserving the area to the right (bit like a scroll wheel).

Thanks in advance :)

PS All the other stuff for this laptop was pulled from Dell and works perfectly, NIC, Wireless, Modem, chipset etc.

Typing this on a D600 a.t.m. I've never bothered with the enhanced trackpad driver, but one should be on the original CD. I'll have a look later this evening, if that's OK?
