Fuel Consumption increased after replacing with new HIgh Pressure Fuel pump

Featured Replies

Hello all,

i'm new to this forum. Just last weekend I replaced the Fuel pump with a new High pressure Fuel pump - Bosch 06H127025N. There was no fault as such with the original or replaced Fuel pump. There were 2 reasons for doing this - one as preventive maintenance and my AEM AFR gauge was flashing Red with I used to throttle, may be it was running a bit lean. I have plans to replace the MAF too but before that I though I would replace the fuel pump with the new HPFP mentioned above. Now I dont see the AFR gauge flashing red and there is no change in Boost as well. BTW I replace with the old ill-famed timing kit with the new improved one along with it. Everything is fine except that I see an increase in fuel consumption . The km/lt reading looks more or less okay by the Fuel needle is moving faster than before. I somehow feel the fuel consumption has increased after changing the HPFP but it has definitely fixed running lean issue (at least that is my assumption). Can anyone throw some light?

Hi All,

Found the problem. MAF sensor wiring (green) was cut. Fixing it solved the issue. In between I got check engine light as well. Couple of more concerns.. will post on separate new thread. thanks all :)
