5 or 6 speed

Featured Replies

Does the 2018 Octavia 2.0litre Tdi 150 ps SE come with a 5 or 6 speed gearbox.?

Regards

6. The only Octavia in the UK that comes with a 5 speeder is the 1.6 TDi.

Thanks. The adds I've been looking at couldn't have had the 1.6 Tdi filtered out.

Will be a listing error or the pic from another car. The 2.0 TDi has had a 6 speeder since it came out in 2004 in the Mk2!

Yes SashaGrace, virtually all the adds are incorrect on Auto trader. Only 35 cars fit the criteria lm after, 2l, se, hatchback, 150ps, diesel, manual gearbox. Very disappointed with search results.

Most people just went for the SE-L as it comes with more kit for decent £££. Is there a reason you don’t want an Elegance/SE-L?

I can't stand those alcan Tara seats on the Se-l

Thought that might be the case. Personally I like the alcantara but seat material is a very personal choice. I won’t order a new vRS because you can’t spec a leather interior anymore. I’m sure a 2.0 TDi SE will come up. Try the SE Business, SE Sport and SE Tech specifications as well. They all come with cloth seats.

I've seen some very poor examples of alcantara drivers seats and the cars have not done that many miles. I know the cloth seats are on the lower grade car but for me they retain their new look far longer.

Picture shows 2018, 1.4 tsi. Just over 5k on clock.....  Gross.

Alcantara looks odd in photos due to the way the light hits it, if part of the seat has been brushed in a different direction last time someone sat in it, it'll photograph badly but there's almost certainly nothing wrong with it, it's very hard wearing typically.

There doesn't look anything wrong in that last picture, if you were to run your hand over it to get the material to sit in same direction it'd look perfect again.

May be will look again at some more SE-Ls and take into consideration what you have said Kenai.

I owned a 63 plate Mk3 Octavia 2.0Tdi SE and it does as Sasha states come with a 6 speed manual box as standard. Best I got out of it was 71mpg before the remap and 70mpg afterwards. The reg if it's for sale was FG63 GGY (known as Foggy). Had 147bhp standard but someone is now enjoying 186bhp under their right foot (more than a Vrs Tdi.

We have an two Octy's, one with Cloth seats and one with Alcantara.

Alcantara is typically much harder wearing as long as you keep it clean. It does have a pile to it though so if you have a section brushed the wrong way it will show up darker when light shines on it.

I've done 30k miles now and my drivers seat Alcantara still looks like new.

6 of my last 7 cars (Citroen, Audi and Skoda) have had part Alcantara and part leather seats. The oldest of these is now 11 years old and the Alcantara is still in excellent condition - in fact the seats are in better condition than the only 1 of the last 7 cars that had full leather when I sold that at 10 years old.

Well had to eat my words. Bought a 18 plate 2Litre SE-L today with alcantara seats, they are nice and clean. Picking it up Monday.
