Passat road test in Express

Rather a strange road test in Sunday Express today [26/3]. Car is the 2.0 diesel Passat estate, and after saying how the current "excellent" Skoda range doesn't fit in with people's preconceptions of Skoda, he completely fails to make the connection between VW and Skoda.

He says the new Passat falls short of people's preconceptions of VW and isn't "upmarket" enough - you would think he would suggest that the equivalent Skodas would be better cars for less money. But no, after that one line in the first paragraph, all he compares the VW with are Mondeos, Vauxhalls etc. How odd!
