Drove in snow, now have uneven tyre wear

Featured Replies

A month ago we were driving back in snow which was just setting on the ground. We hit a patch where the wheels locked up and we slid. We didn't think anything about it. A couple of days later we got on a dual carriage way, and found that any speed over 60mph caused vibration which seemed like it came from the front offside wheel. After a while we have noticed outer edge tyre wear. What could this be? Is it tracking, a bushing or something else. We think that snow day caused damage, we just don't know to what extent. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Does sound like you hit something and it's pushed the tracking out.

To start, I'd check the pressures then get the tracking checked as most places will do it for free.

That or you could have lost a balance weight.

Is this a single wheel or more than 1 and is it front or rear.  A vibration at 60mph is a balancing issue or a buckled rim - do you recall hitting a pothole?

As above its worth getting the tracking checked
