Cant find the right rear calipers

Featured Replies

I ordered some new rear calipers and brake lines for my 2009 1.8 tsi and there were a lot of differences in what was supplied

some of the problems with the parts supplied:

  • Brake hose had no banjo fitting on the caliper side (just a female thread)
  • on the caliper, banjo hole thread was too big
  • caliper banjo hole position was opposite side of the bleed screw (bleed screw facing the rear of the car/banjo towards the front)
  • metal bracket for caliper handbrake cable had 2 holes and 1 mount, 1 hole for the cable that then the cable mounts to the piston acctuator, but then a second hole that I assume is for the brake hose (original didnt have hose mount)
  • pad interface arms are different sizes (mine are the same)

Does anyone know what caliper i need or is there a part number on my caliper i can use?

Try [email protected] with your VIN.

Otherwise, add a photo of your PR codes from near the wheel well in the boot. It's not a full list but might help.

Are you sure the current ones are original and correct?
