BULB FAILURE

Featured Replies

HI

I own a Skoda superb 2011 1.8TSI PETROL VERSION, The left rear turn signal bulb ,the right front turn signal bulb and the front right DRL headlight have suddenly stop working. But again the next day when tried to check the lights they seem to be ok. All the lights were working normally. Today morning when I tried to check the light they r not working in the same sequence.Wondering whats the cause.........Is it something to do with fuse or relay??? Can someone give provide me with a solution.

You can rule out the bulbs then.

The fuses are unlikely too, as generally once a fuse pops or fails it stays broken.

Is it the estate or twindoor?

The MkII Superb does suffer with some strange electrical issues that often affect the exterior lighting.

If it's the twindoor then there are some wires that get stretched and eventually break, but this usually only affects the rear lights.

Then there are the wires between the drivers door and inner wing, but these provide power to the doors.

The other option might be the BCM or CECM module located somewhere above the drivers feet. This controls all lighting functions. Aftermarket xenon / HID kits can affect them.

A scan with VCDS might show up some related fault codes?

Its MkII superb. will get a VCDS Done.Thank u for the update!

I'd check the loom in the drivers door, & wiring loom just at the hinge part of the lift back, strip back all the wires and add around 1" to them all, solder them, shrink wrap them, start the car up and clear the codes. shouldn't be an issue anymore
