Polishers, shampoo and other products

Back in the day I used to do up classic cars in my spare time - strip down, weld, fill, prep and spray, so I was into the finishing side of things.

I have an array of Autoglym products which seem to be good, but I want to buy an electric polisher and was looking at the Clarkes model (around £70) from Machine Mart. I was wondering if anyone here had used one and if they are any good. I would also be interested what cutting/polishing liquids/cream they used, as I want to give both our cars a good clean and polish.
