Clutch slave cylinder and new clutch 2.0CR 6sp scout 4x4

Recommended Posts

I am guessing this is a fairly major job due to the slave cylinder being inside the gearbox housing, but does anyone have the actual number of hours labour to expect and approx price for the clutch and slave cylinder kit?

Symptoms I have are intermittent gear change stiff and something leaking off the of the casing ( think its hydraulic/brake fluid not oil)

would take a guess that the clutch will need replacing due to contamination so just looking to work out rough costs..

@karlbar2k - Well, with an internal slave you do need to drop the gearbox to replace it, and may well need a new friction plate, but are there any symptoms of clutch slip?

Otherwise, since you report what you think is brake fluid on the outside of the case, check the hydraulic line feeding the slave, since that may be the fault and save several hours work.
