dashlights and electrics

Hi just a quick heads up i have an 08 fabia sport 1.9tdi and had the usual electric issue of dash lights flickering,headlights and radio turning off etc,i tried the usual vagcom with no codes BUT eventually throught rial and error i found that my main earth cable from battery to strut tower would build up a 300 omh resistance even though nothing was loose or corroded.I made up a new lead and 2 months later i have had no problems.i removed the sheathing off the old cable and could find no broken strands or loose connections but the resistance was in the brass connection which bolts to strut tower.Hope this helps others as i was on the verge of selling the car.
