Battery problem with no fault codes

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Normally I'm pretty good at working things out but this has me stuck, I have a Skoda Fabia VRS MK1 2004, I am having a problem with my battery holding charge/discharging, I have had the battery assessed and it's come back as a good battery, same as the alternator, so when I jump start the car it runs fine, it will be fine for a max of 36hrs and then the battery looses charge to a point where I then go to start it and it starts, runs, but all the warning lights come on the dash when it's running on what I can only assume is a low battery, if I turn the wheel left to right, the warning lights go on and off other than the power steering light and the steering will go stiff, I have no idea what the cause could be but from reading the forums could it be the wiring to the alternator?? Any help is appreciated

Diode failure or another parasitic discharge.

For the former disconnect the alternator when car parked (insulate the cables) and reconnect before restarting after 6 hours.

What do you mean diode, sorry I admit I know my way round the car but not the technical stuff lol, what do you mean by former, do you mean just disconnect the and re insulate at the connections or the entire cable, and why 6 hours as well
