Turanza T005/Firestone vs Conti CPC5/6 vs Michelin/GY

Featured Replies

Can't decide, very confused...205x55x16

Read many reviews and user comments on tyrereviews.co.uk

1.Turanza T005

2.Firestone Roadhawk

3.Conti CPC5 (+rim protection)

4.Conti CPC6

5.Michelin Premacy 4

6.GoodYear EffGrip Performance

Coming to replace Conti EcoContact5

Main criteria is handling & braking.

Will keep them for around 40k kms approx.

Thank you in advance!

Gone for Vredestein Quatrac 5  myself as I need to be prepared for winter conditions .  Michelin Cross Climate would be my second choice. But go for any decently  reviewed tyres.

@Sec8200  difficult to comment, as you haven’t specified if you do urban driving, motorways, poor quality rural roads etc.   What model are we talking about.

Also your signature has no location and a recommendation for someone living in the hills is going to be different to someone elsewhere, even living West or East affects it as one side of country sees lot more rain so need a better rain rated tyre

These are the standard ZE310 (not UHP as these advertise, but they were honest when i asked) but should do you? Get great reviews and a good price.

I've just fitted two rears. They were great on delivery with a text notification of time slot.  Get em fitted locally then........

@SurreyJohn

yeap, sorry. Main focus is the braking on dry road.Highway driving. Maybe cornering feedback as second priority. Simply - security.

When it rains I drive as grandma,no matter the tyres. In general the rain period is not so long here, so not an issue.

Thanks all that replies. I am checking the info ;)

Not in the UK then?

Might be an idea to expand your profile- so we can give a better answer on suitable tyres .

When i changed from the Conti Ecocontacts that were factory fitted on my Rapid hatch to Goodyear ultragrip I found 2 things:

  1. The fuel economy went down very slightly but:
  2. The grip went through the roof. They are unquestionably the best tyres that I have used as far as grip goes

I would not touch Bridgestone Turanzas, had them on a Mazda 3, they wouldn't wear out and were lethal in the wet.

Bought Turanza T005 based on many possitive reviews in tyrereviews.co.uk both from users and big reviewers.

Also some car bloggers from the official presentation on the launch were possitive in comments.

Looks like T005 is vastly improved tyre but time will tell.

I will put some thoughts after I use them for awhile.

These statements strike me as being tautology!

I would have said cause and effect rather than  tautology.
