Looking at coming back to a VRS

Featured Replies

How do people

We are currently selling out 2013 fiesta ST, i need to get some money back due to change of personal circumstances..

Anyways i am looking at spending up to 3-3500£ on a vrs..

Undecided what way to go

We had a fabia.. it was awesome.. in everyway we loved it, (it got passed to a family member when we got the fiesta) So highly considering one of those again

Except, i would not mind something a little bigger, and if possible auto, as the wife struggles to drive a DSG would really help her

But that then leave me with a few options.

A manual classic Mk1 Octavia VRS, are these the most reliable, easiest to work on, they look much more fun etc than the later ones.

A mk2 Oct VRS. now heres the question, which is best. if going this way may prefer the diesel.. but its not something i ave to have, which is the most reliable? the TFSI, CR or the PD engine

I have seen a yellow CR in budget, it is also a DSG. so the next question is.. DSG. its early days of dsg, 2008 ish.. are these boxes reliable or do they have a habit of leaving big bills and i am still better off with a manual..

With a remap what power levels and mpg should i expect for the TFSI, CR and the CR.

So choice of early VRS 1.8T (although these are awesome the engine always left me a little "cold") mk2, diesel petrol, dsg, manual.. i am not fusy, just want the best, most reliable.

thanks

Pete

Funny enough. I've bought myself a octavia limited edition vrs tsi. And going to look at a fabia vrs mk1 high miles (211k) but it's cheap and one owner from new with all history and cma belt just done. Wife just wants something cheap to hack around in.. Perfect!
