BMW 840d

Featured Replies

Was sniffing around one of these while waiting to pick up my car.

It was £80k. £80k! Did I mention it was £80k.

It was nice but I really didn't see an £80k car there. The interior was not vastly better than my 3yr old 3 series. It makes the same hp and pretty much the same performance as a 335d. But it was £80k.

Might be a nice car at 3yr old for £25k and you can laugh at the weaping of the first owner when they get the trade in offer.

It’s all about the image.

How much was it?

Actually it was £79,990

As for image. I'm sure £80 could get you a better look than a diesel 3door coupe.

Buy a Vantage for when you need to get seen and a diesel Golf for the rest of your time.

TBH a Tesla S would give you a better instagram profile for that money.

I've cpome to the conclusion that 'value' in my mind is not subject to inflation. So when my VRS was good value at £16k a new VRS is not good value at £26k. And I'm happy with my cantankerous decrepitude.

How does that compare with the price of an i8? The i8 really does look good amongst "ordinary cars" (such as 3 and 5 series for example) on a busy motorway.

Thanks and OUCH!!!

The depreciation will be horrendous! I really fancy a M760Li which are around £140k new. A one year old one is around £75k, give it a couple more years and they should be affordable!!

Yeah gets to 60mph about 0.5second quicker than my Octavia but wouldn't be able to keep up beyond that. Another pointless expensive German car for footballers or poseurs.:notme:

If the drivers company and HMRC are assisting financially in driving the BMW then that is very nice.

If a local takeaway place wants home deliveries, a quick Octavia is the de-fault vehicle.

Affordable to buy but not run. Do they not have to fly out engineers from Germany to deal woth some faults on it?
