Briskoda & SCC Joint Meet - Portsdown Hill, 30th April

Featured Replies

POSTPONED TILL LATER IN THE YEAR

Having met up with a few of the southern SCC members we discussed the possibility of having a joint meet so we are going to give it a go and see what happens.

Date: Sunday 30th April 2006 Time: 12:30pm

Venue: Churchillian Public House, Widley Walk,Portsdown Hill Rd, Nr. Portsmouth, Hampshire PO6 3LS. Tel: 023 9237 1803

Map of location can be found here.

Meet in the larger car park, accessed by driving into the Churchillian access road and 100 or so yards past the pub. Be careful of the narrow entrance.

The intention is to have a run down to Southsea seafront and maybe a walk up to the pier followed by another short run to Gunwharf Quay for a bowling competition Briskoda vs SCC.

If it is a success then more meets are planned for the future which would include things like Paintballing & Go-Karting so your support for this event would be immensly appreciated as I would love to see more Skoda's than Seat's!!.

thanks for this mate - I've got a good feeling about this - We've got some good interest over on SCC already!

We've got the time set for 1PM, but I'm usually there for 12:45 anyway :) Look forward to seeing you guys!

Good to see this is .... does this mean I have to come all the way from Leeds to present SCC with the bowling trophy chuckle

hehe Si, don't get your hopes up - with our last bowling scores we'll probably have to let them have it :( lol

Lets not get carried away here, I'm the only sod on the list at present and I'm absolute $h1te at bowlling!! :P

Maybe we could clone some people for you :)

hehe, well we've only got 6 people, but the month is young (in fact not even in april yet!)

You'd have to be like facing the opposite direction and bowling with a balloon in order to get lower than my last score! I'm ashamed ! :(

Gonna check the diary, hopefully I will be able to attend this time and double the Skoda headcount.

Can't have Makefish fighting the cause alone!!

thats what i like to see ;)

keep em coming!

Alright Guys, I am new to Briskoda, but i wanna come to this event. Ive just bought a 2003 Octavia vRS in Magic Black :D, and would love to give it ago. I am from Hertfordshire near london, so its only about a 100 mile run. Could bring a mate with me to add up the numbers for the event!!!!

Keep me posted people!!!

Don't get too carried away Pabs, three of the five are maybe's!. As I said in my PM to you this coincides with a RR meet the previous day so we might be struggling to do this meet justice.

yeh I know mate, but its the same as our meets - 24 people put their names down and 7 turn up. I just try to make it look good on paper ya see ;)

lol

I just thought I'd bump this and see if we have any more for this, or perhaps yay or nay from those on the list who aren't too sure yet?

Look forward to meeting those of you who can make it :)

  • 2 weeks later...

just another brief bump on this as its coming closer to the meet :)

Please let me know roughly how many to expect turning up.

Cheers :)

Shame it clashes with the interpro day. Would have been easy enough for me to galavant along the south coast. :)

yeh, apologies for that one - I had no idea until Makefish told me :(

However, we @ SCC meet on the last Sunday on Every month in the Portsmouth region - Churchillian Pub.

I know we have a good meet starting up in Berkshire now too (Reading way) if anyone is interested in that area...

:bump:

OK, it seems we have had a very dissapointing uptake on this and I believe the reasons are that there are a lot of things going on this weekend ie. Cat & Fiddle, RR Day etc.

Those that have expressed an interest in this could you please confirm whether or not you will be attending and those that may have been thinking of joining us please let yourself known.

It is unfortunate that this meet coincides with others this weekend and I do not want Briskoda to let SCC down with a poor turnout, so if we cannot get sufficient numbers to justify a meet I am going to suggest postponing this until later in the year.

Sorry Pabs, but it just has not had the interest I was hoping it would generate.

seriously no worries mate. It seems like I'm having trouble getting people together at my end too - the turnouts we usually have are considerably lower recently - and no idea why.

I've got 8 people on my list, of which I HOPE all 8 turn up but I can never be sure.

I really don't mind if those that do want to turn up can do - you don't have to NOT come just because of numbers. :)

Remember, all are welcome here! :)
