Unusual climate control behaviour -fan not blowing hard

Featured Replies

Hi

2017 Superb SE-L (190 DSG) here.  Love the car and all was good until last week when I was cold driving to work.  I have the climate control set to 23 ish normally - but it was not getting there.  Having had some time to play with it, I think it's the fan not blowing hard enough.  I can turn up the heat to Hi and they don't blow any harder - although if I manually turn up the fan speed, it works perfectly.

Any ideas guys?  Known issue/easy fix or dealer visit?

Thanks

Si

To keep it simple....have you got the Auto mode selected? (no offence meant!)

Could be a dodgy interior temp sensor? I've had a couple go on Octavia's.

None taken... And yes, auto on.... Been fine for 18 months and the precious Superb (4 yrs).

Which fan speed profile do you have selected for the AUTO setting ?   There are 3 options to choose from

You access this via the MENU button on the climate control unit.

Thanks Rick - checked it and it was on medium - but I've cycled through them and can hear the fan speed change.  I've set it to high for now.  Will keep an eye on it.  I have had an odd occurrence on a few occasions - probably not associated at all - but the radio loses ALL stations and I have to repair my phone.  Also noticed recently that my phone asks for the passcode when connecting via BT (even though I have it plugged in via cable).

One to watch...

Also, check your driver profile mode too... if you have it on ECO it may override this setting and change the climate to ECO mode - so in this instance configure the individual driver profile to your taste.
