Columbus HDD partitioning

Featured Replies

It is a while since I updated the FW on the Columbus. I think - but I am not too sure -that I changed partition sizes. As current maps are getting bigger I think the unit is struggling. Can I reflash the Columbus to repartition the HDD?

What is the standard partition size for the map partition?

Depends a lot on what software you have, what hard drive size is fitted etc.

Unfortunately, many "custom" softwares pinch as much hard drive space as possible for music and leave just the bare minimum for maps and poi, which is fair enough if you're not too fussed about future proofing, but the general rule of thumb is that 9Gb is left for maps which sj=hould be ample for maps currently.

Edit: As it happens, the current latest maps software is 6.5Gb thereabouts.
