Anyone had any experience with Xtrons?

Featured Replies

I used to have an xtrons in my old car and wanted to add to my Octavia but worried about ac controls and reversing sensors still working.

I've found the xtrons PE98MTVPL

It looks like a plug and play kind of thing but has anyone used this model of and model similar?

Any help would be appreciated I'm pulling my hair out

when i put an xtrons unit into our mk2 superb it worked perfectly with the reversing sensors and AC /heated seat controls.

the way they were displayed could be a bit off (reversing sensors on the left edge of the screen rather than in the middle) but they worked fine.

remember to disconnect your battery before any work, if not you might trigger a fault code for the airbag which needs someone to reset the code

Thats all the convincing I needed really it's always a bit dodgy buying from China where they claim it'll work and getting no support I think that's all I needed to order one this evening. Thank you

xtrons do have half decent support from memory.

i had a slight issue with something and i got some helpfull emails back.

I spent about 3 months trying to get bluetooth to work on my old unit and the only help I got was a factory reset.

Ended up sorting it myself and emailed them with a solution and never heard anything back

I had a xtrons unit in my old car, the design of the trim allowed it to push into the touch screen which made the unit do crazy things of its own, this happened in the cold and when i took a sharp left turn. I was told to do a factory reset which i did everytime the unit went crazy but that didnt solve the issue, ended up changing and got my money back through the ebay money back warranty.

I've just bought myself an xtron unit that should just bolt on and comes with adapters ect all I need to do is screw it in and plug in the adapter.

They have a 15% off discount on their site atm so I went for it, should be here tomorrow

Anyone interested at all, 3 months on I still like it as much as when i put it in, everything works as well or better that stock and very fast and smooth, much better than pioneer or equivalent. one issue is trying to get a facia that fits as i still don't have one, I think i'm going to give a dremel a try but other than that i would 100% recommend.

Assuming you did buy the PE98MTVPL, I have the same unit - look a few posts above :)
