Timing Chain, or Belt?

Featured Replies

Hi, does my Superb (June 2011, 2.0 TFSi) have a timing chain or a timing belt?  I assumed it had a belt as when I open the bonnet I can see (all I know about my car is how to drive it) a belt at the very front of the engine.  The dealer and another garage tell me I have a chain.  Any thoughts please?  Thank you.

Chain.

That's correct. The chain (which drives your camshafts) is hidden. The belt that you see only drives the AC and the alternator.
