Meet Cookie and Buster, they're 11 and we've just given them a new home.

I've been looking at dog guards and found this

It says for 2004 onwards (mk2) but the two photos are of mk3's, is there much difference in load bays? I've sent them a question, but you guys have more Skoda knowledge.

I'm assuming that as there's photos it will fit. 

Any other suggestions?

We're definitely getting a cage, but not that one, the measurements they've sent me don't match the picture. The size they say it is would mean the boot floor handle would be covered - it's visible in the pictures??? So, either it's a photo for another cage or they have a typo in the specs, either way it's odd.

All depends how much you want to spend, there are cages on the market by Barjo, Guardsman, Trystorme and MMG that are all solid and sturdy and probably able to survive a shunt, the ones pictured don't look very strong. Have had cages in all of my cars, wouldn't be without one.

Measurements don't match picture. you say but am I missing  something. Cage would have to be well forward to be able to lift the floor to any extent.

I was using the handle as distance marker, no intention of lifting the floor with the cage (and certainly not with the BTs in there ) 

The dimensions they sent mean the cage would virtually fill the boot, certainly covering the handle, which is visible in the photo, this is even more compounded by the cage being listed for a mk2 but the pictures show a mk3. 

My, guess, they've either got the picture for one of their other cages, or it's a typo on the size ( I doubt they measured a cage for me)

 

It's been 6 days with our new additions to the Cakemonster family and I have to say they're BRILLIANT! 

 

I see !  Perhaps somebody with a cage in a mk2  could help to get the right one. Or you might try another supplier.

 

The cage door looks level with the bottom of the cage, my cages all sat/sit on the floor of the boot (4 inch drop from tailgate lip) and cage door opens without touching the lip)

Present cage is made by MMG, all my cars have been estates.
