diesel. CAYC

Same engine as mine. Rather than putting in a bigger turbo which would also require other changes to get the right fuelling, people usually go for a stage 1 remap. Do a search as several places offer remaps giving significant uplifts to power with more flexibility.

Have you had the emissions update done on your car? If so that would account for some of the loss of power, especially low down torque. You would need to have this reversed before putting on a stage one remap.

by remap you mean chiptuning? Btw no emission update on mine afaik.

Glad you don't have the so called Fixfail. If you want to check there will a sticker near the spare wheel well and a plastic "flow straightener" in the air input duct.

Chip tuning usually means adding another tuning box in line with output from the ECU. Formally it meant taking a chip out of the ECU and replacing it with one contains different software.

A remap replaces the software in the ECU by downloading new custom software, often dynamically created for your particular car.

I don' t know this company so you would need to get reviews but they offer to take your engine to 145 bhp:-

Do a search as there are many providers and I am sure others on here can provide their views and experiences.

and do you think worth it? have almost 150k km in it. would like faster acceleration though.

Its a lot cheaper than a bigger turbo plus changes for refuelling.

Whichever way you add bhp you are risking other components that have already done 90,000 miles. Others on here have taken the same route and not had problems but others have had to replace the clutch and other powertrain components.

Only you can judge the past history of the car and the way it was used.

One way would be to go for a milder remap, up to say 120-125 bhp.
