Amundsen Destinations

Featured Replies

Is it possible to export my ‘destinations’ from Amundsen satnav?

I have quite a lot saved, including many as GPS coordinates. I am getting my new car on Friday, so I’d rather not have to input them all manually, if I can avoid it.

As far as I can tell there is no export function, seems its best to keep your destinations in VCard format so they can be imported regardless of infotainment system. Not that I have done it but that appears to be the theory.

I had a look at it today and I haven’t got as many saved as I thought. Having said that, it doesn’t show me the details -  postcodes or coordinates.

It looks like I’ll have to input them manually.

You could save the addresses in your contacts on your phone, you can then select contacts from destinations.

Is there no other way to make the Vcard and do the upload

as example transfer to SD card and select from there

can someone give me the Vcard format that is working to do the upload?

The following VCard format, saved as "Morrisons.vcf" via a basic text editor e.g. Windows Notepad, works.

BEGIN:VCARD
VERSION:3.0
CATEGORIES:VIP
X-VIPCategory:Private
ADR;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:;;Dee Lane 38;WIRRAL;;CH48 0QA;United Kingdom
X-NAVADDR:;;;;;;;;;
GEO:53.37175369;-3.187236786
X-FLAG:
REV:20190211T000741z
FN;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Morrison's, West Kirby
UID:AddresBookPersistentProvider3
END:VCARD

However, it seems the Sat Nav will only accept one entry at a time from an SD Card.

The second and subsequent files come up as destinations but ask for an address when selected.  Very odd.

The VCard 3.0 Specifications are here, which may help.

This page for VWs may also help to generate the VCF code.

You can also try http://mydestination.skoda-auto.com/ for generating POIs from a CSV file, but I've had no success.

Well, I’ve had to re-input all of my destinations three times.

Firstly when I got my new car, then again when the dealer reloaded the infotainment s/w and finally when the unit was replaced under warranty.

Only time will tell whether the issue I had has been fixed and if I will have to do it all again.
