vRS or DSG TDI

Featured Replies

Was about to order VRS estate this week until I drove a 105 TD with DSG - what a crackin car - what must the 2.0 be like - the DSG makes the 1.9 so smooth and it feels it has more torque than the figures suggest. Now I am asking myself why go for a VRS when I can get an Elegance 2.0 DSG with more toys for less money - peoples thoughts would be appreciated:

That is one tough choice, drove a Vrs and loved the speed at the same time only doing 22mpg:eek: At the weekend at the W.S.M meet was able to almost keep up with the Vrs through the country lanes and get 48mpg:thumbup:

Also my insurance costs would double:mad:

I have been thinking of getting the new VRS (have a Mk I), but what you say about the diesel is v. interesting. I am especially interested in the DSG, which seems the way to go. Does anyone know if we're going to see it in the VRS?

Shame they don't seem to do the Sport spec on the estate model - I think that would be a popular choice until a diesel vRS comes out.
