Mk3 retrofit Cruise Control

Featured Replies

I have just picked up a Superb Mk3 2015 estate 1.6 S, I in my haste to get the deal didn't realise it had no Cruise control I assumed every big modern car would have it..  Turns  out it is the one feature from my last car that I will certainly miss, the list of missing gadgets is to long to start to quote.. not saying I've made a mistake but the saying of less speed more haste may come into it.

Read a few older posts where people have been asking about it, one guy had on how it was done in Russian but I think he went the full hog to ACC.

Phoned my local Skoda Dealer whom I have no great faith in providing any normal or proper information any got a very blank gap in the conversation.. Needless to say I am still waiting on the call back.

Going to try a different longer established dealer this morning.

Just looking to do it as cheap and as safe as possible.. anyone with more knowledge have any pointers?

Don't really need ACC and standard CC would be perfect, new to Superbs after having Mondeo's for the past 12 years..

Ta

I have done this on a few cars in the past (Mk1 VRS, Bora etc) but not the Mk3.. It's not that hard a job, but you will need VCDS to code it in.. if it's at all possible..

Seen that on a few threads but trying to work out what/who & where, couldn't find the kit on ebay as it all seems to be for the Mk2, further searching may turn it up..

Also need to speak to my mechanic although I'm not sure it's his sort of thing..

I have a contact who is a VAG specialist  mechanic so need to try to get at him to see if he can do a retrofit or at least point me in the right direction.. being in Norn Iron the options may be limited...

Might be a case of sourcing a stalk and look from a damaged car and retrofitting.  I know sometimes the convenience modules need changed / updated..

I fitted CC myself to a B5 Passat and had VW dealer retrofit to both B6 and B7 Passats.

Both of those had the third stalk, as opposed to the switches being on the indicator stalk.

I can’t see it being that different for the Superb 3 and I would imagine there would be a kit available. It’s just a case of finding someone who is capable of doing it.

Who did you speak to at the dealers?  Was it the parts man?

Dave no never got that far, youngster on the main parts desk was to get back to me..

To be honest the place doesn't have a great rep for anything other than basic stuff.

Tried a different dealer but guy I needed to speak to wasn't available....  No prizes for guessing that I'm also waiting for them to phone back..
