Bong on start up

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I suspect this has been covered 100 times but wondered if there was a quick answer.? I'm considering a 2009 vrs tdi. However upon start up there is a bong identical to say the cold warning or lights on etc. Now the car is low on fuel with the yellow light on All the other lights delay but go out in normal time with none remaining on. However the door is open which is shown on the mfd. Would I be right in saying that as the door is open this display would over right the 'please refuel' message. Or is there something more sinister.? Appreciate your help guys.

The low 'bong' can indicate low battery. I used to get it if I was listening to the radio or using a car vac for prolonged periods without the engine running.

I'm confused with your low fuel/door ajar issue. Why not just close the door and see what is displayed?

I don't have MFD on my vehicle just the yellow Low Fuel warning light and the red Door Ajar icon.

AThanks for your reply I prob. Haven't explained properly. I don't own the car yet and it was something I noticed on a video of it sent to me of the car. I didn't know if there was a simple answer. (apart from asking him to close the door and video again. The low bat bong is different and I seem to recall bongs 3 times immediately after you unlock the car my experience is the key didn't need to be in the ignition. Not to worry.
