Featured Replies

Any member had issues with number plate lights? If i take them both out they work, put them back in place and they go out. Also car is suddenly giving off electric shocks......any help appreciated.

regards

Not having the same issues as you but gremlins have moved in on my number plate lights, I switch lights on & get yellow warning triangle showing in maxidot,  looking on stereo screen it says check number plate illumination .. both lit , switching ignition off and back on clears it

only happens occasionally..

Nightmare, they work until you touch them even slightly then go out, dunt the boot and they come on again .   Arrrghhhhhhhh

Mine stopped working after I fitted a reversing camera boot switch (estate).... not had a chance to investigate why.

That is more or less what I had happen with my old MK2 Octavia, 2 new bulb holders from eurocarparts cured the problem cost something like £8 each less than 2 years ago.

By the way I realise you type in Scottish but …. dunt the boot ?...

I type in the Queens English ( dunt is part of the Queens English  but in Scottish twang )

dunt
/dʌnt/
SCOTTISH
verb

  1. 1.
    bump into or hit heavily.
"she dunted my father in the side with her elbow"
noun

  1. 1.
    a heavy dull-sounding blow.

One of my boot registration lights stopped working properly after i had my car washed at local car wash. As said a thump on the boot makes it work

 I like that, next time my number plate lamp throws a wobbly I will try dunting it. The only thing is will dunting the boot or in my case tailgate work whilst I'm south of" the wall" ?  problem is my passport has expired.
