So just over 2 1/2 years of ownership (added about 30k miles) and still running sweet as anything.

Hi, I own Skoda rapid 2016 spaceback too, your project is truly stuning, i couldn't do so much work on my car, for now, just tinted windows, had remap - from 66kw to 88kw 1.2 tsi, changed front grill from Superskoda, blacked emblems. I am waiting for good audio system too. But there is one problem, the seats, they ar basic ones, they dont suport you in the corners at all, i did some research, but in Lithuania, where i live, it is imposible to find used sport version seats, i heard, that seats from Audi a1/Seat Ibiza/VW Polo could fit, but I cant find one of them in good condition too, what seats do you have? Maybe You could give me some tips on that? Thank You

Mine has the standard seats I think, they aren't anything special by any means.

I can't offer you any tips on swapping them unfortunately, but i'm sure there will be helpful people the Rapid forum who can shed some light on it for you 🙂

Hi, how is the sound of intake now? I have been planing to install some aftermarket intake, but the price is quite big.

Hey, I've just bought a Rapid 1.2 TSI and looking to do some similar work, especially the new radio with Android Auto, rear parking camera, blacked out grills and front splitter. Are you able to share any links to the ones you used? Looking for them is a minefield, and you've done a super job with yours.

A small update is due!

Performance changes:

KMS Motorsport Stage 1 Remap - Car has gone from 86 to 130 bhp/Torque now at 255NM

Pipewerx catback exhaust (downpipe and sports cat due this year).

New rear discs and pads (Brembo on sale from ECP). Fronts possibly due later this year.

4 new Avon Z7 tyres - Much quieter than the cheap brands they replace.

Aesthetic changes:

Maxton front splitter (from their eBay store, saving £30!) £100

Replaced all interior bulbs with LEDS - £16 from eBay for the full set

Replaced the side lights and DRLs with LEDS - £15 for the sidelights from Halfords and £17 for the DRLs from eBay

Generic rubber boot liner - £15 from eBay

Also painted the brake callipers Hammerite red which adds 25BHP, naturally.

I'm honestly surprised at how much of a difference the LED lights make. The interior looks a lot better with the white light and the front of the car looks more modern with the white lights, although the headlights look very yellow in comparison!

Next few weeks:

DAB Aerial - Ordered

Rear view camera - Ordered

Skoda  interior mats - Ordered

Possible:

New gear knob - Once I find a decent replacement.

Rear diffuser - Prices are around £250 on Superskoda which is quite steep for a bit of plastic.

No longer doing:

Cold Air intake

Pictures up soon!

Hi,

I have recently purchased rapid spaceback 1.2tsi and looking to make some changes...

Is there any way you could send me the ebay and halfords links for the interior bulbs, DRLs and sidelight please?

I need help as to which ones to get.

Thanks.

Been a while hasn't it!

To the comments asking for parts lists, sorry but I can't remember exactly. Bulbs were easy to determine via Halfords online and then find the matching codes elsewhere. I've listed the part names further back in the thread and a quick Google will bring them up.

So the car has now done 95.6k miles and unfortunately has a mechanical gremlin that cannot be fixed.

At idle the engine sometimes runs "lumpy" and seems to be misfiring, however when driving it doesn't have any issues. Originally, accelerating in 3rd through 5th would cause a severe juddering sensation almost as though the car was stalling but this was initially solved by replacing the coil pack.

The car has been to 3 VAG specialist garages (Mersey Tuning, Awesome GTi and ADS in Preston) who cannot solve the problem of the "lumpy" running.

The car has had a new fuel filter, new spark plugs, new coil pack, new ignition leads, new air filters, injector cleaning, performance fuel, gearbox/drivetrain/suspension/turbo inspections and further but a source of the issue cannot be found. No codes come up on diagnostic software either.

The car will be replaced this year as I'm reluctant to spend any more money on it trying to fix the issue.

Car has now been sold and replaced with a 2019 Octavia. I shall miss my Rapid as it was a fun journey/process and a very fun car to drive. It travelled from Scotland to the South West, and was used for moving house, festivals, rallies and more. 6 and a half years of ownership and relatively little went wrong.

I learnt a lot from it and definitely have the bug of modifying future cars (although maybe not with such a loud exhaust!).

Onwards and upwards!
